Dyslexic Heart Podcast #26

This podcast is all over the place. In addition to usual musical geekage (The All Brights, The I Don’t Cares, Tommy Stinson, Adele, KISS, ELO, Tom Petty), we talk about Paul Stanley’s autobiography, annoying TV commercials, the golden age of television, the 70s vs the 80s and a few other random topics.

  1. What? no reference to the craze of the 70’s known as the Pet Rock?

Speaking of the 70’s: In regards to ELO, they have been one of my favorites. In 78 I was 18 and went to the Out Of The Blue concert tour when it hit Chicago. That tour was subject to a mild controversy as one promoter sued the band for heavy use of background recorded music essentially making it not a live show.
The concert was one of the best I have been to.

The link below is pretty interesting as it describes the group’s relationship with different artists and supports your impressions of the new stuff being sort of like Travelling Wilburys.

I always get a kick out of listening to you guys. Thanks for doing the show.
